Want to book the ultimate adventure, but need a little more confidence on the bike?
Triumph Motorcycles South Africa in conjunction with I-RIDE invites you to the Triumph Adventure Training Day.
Directions:
Travel towards the intersection of R511 and N4 Highway, towards Hartbeespoort. From the intersection travel on the R511 for 3.4km and turn left on the R511. Travel for 13,6km on the R511, the entrance of the facility will be on your left-hand side, just after the river bridge. The entrance will be clearly marked with flags, enter through the thatch entrance on the dirt road, The venue will be a further 100m from the entrance. This training day is specifically aimed at giving you an opportunity to learn the fundamental skills needed to go off-road riding in a safe environment under the instruction of accredited instructors. No previous off-road experience is needed!
All riders are welcome to book a spot, whether you are on a Triumph or not!
Bookings are essential as space is limited to 18 riders.
Please bring a copy of your entry form or confirmation email for registration purposes.
There will be 2 courses on the day:
COURSE 1:
Basic Principles of Off-Road Riding
Groups will be limited to 1 instructor for 6 students
Explain the rider’s position on the motorcycle,
Warmup exercises,
U-turn Technique
5 Meter Cone riding – Weight distribution
Riding parallel logs – 2 Meters long
Basic Introduction to Sand Riding
Riding the skills track – Combination of the day’s exercises, this is for fun and everyone can do this.
COURSE 2:
Fundamental Skills to Off-Road Riding
Groups will be limited to 1 instructor for 10 students
Explain the rider’s position on the motorcycle,
Warmup exercises,
figure of Eight Technique
3.5 Meter Cone riding – Weight distribution
Riding parallel logs 5-6 Meters long
Sand Riding – Weight distribution and Turning
Riding the skills track – Combination of the day’s exercises, this is for fun and everyone can do this.
If you attended training previously and are confident in your skills you can enter the 2nd course, The Fundamental Skills to Off-Road Riding.
This is the next step up from the basic, but is not advanced.
The focus is still to learn the basics in a controlled environment which will not put you or your motorcycle at risk.
The day will run as follows:
Registration will take place from 07:30 at Hennops River Trails
Rider Briefing and Welcome at 07:45
Training will commence at 08:45
The riders will be divided into groups of 6 each, with two groups doing the BASIC PRINCIPLES course and two groups the FUNDAMENTAL SKILLS course.
We will then have a lunch break around 12:15 – 13:00
After lunch at 13:15 – 15:30, we will traverse a track that puts together all of the exercises from the training. The course is set out to cater for both groups.
The day’s events will end at 16h00 and there will be a canteen available on the day.
