Red Star Raceway
The importance of knowing how to handle your motorcycle is imperative for your safety on the road. Whether you are a weekend warrior or a daily commuter this course is aimed at all riders, of all skill levels to ensure your safety at all times.
Although a day out on the track sounds like fun (which it is) this day course has been strategically put together to make you a more confident rider on our roads by teaching you the basics and how to handle your motorcycle in certain situations.
Topics that will be covered on the day:
The group will meet at Redstar at 08h00 on Sunday 24th November so our friendly helpers can check over your motorcycle and adjust your tyre pressures to suit the conditions.
We will begin the day with introductions, expectations, and our first theory session for the morning. This will be followed by a practical sighting session to settle the butterflies and thereafter we’ll flip-flop between theory and riding sessions for the remainder of the day. A light lunch will be served around 11:30 so please ensure that you have eaten breakfast before you leave home. If you have any dietary requirements please let us know by mail. Be sure to pack a water bottle and drink plenty of water throughout the day. Dehydration will be an issue and affect your concentration adversely. The canteen will be open throughout the day selling snacks and drinks so please don’t forget to use it directly after each track session if need be.
If you are trailering your bike to Redstar you are more than welcome to bring your own cooler box and even some spare fuel if you’re running a small tanked bike. For those riding through, please fill your tanks at the new Shell station right next to the track.
Kindly wear your protective riding gear, including boots, pants, jacket, gloves, and helmets. We have had a consistently low incident rate, however, you don’t want to be caught out.
The day will draw to a close around 16h00 or whenever you feel the fatigue setting in. There is no pressure to ride beyond your limits and push too far. We absolutely want everyone to have a great time learning the art of cornering and braking correctly and getting their bikes home in one beautiful piece.
This course is valued at R2200. However, if you book through our events portal the cost per rider is R1,850 as your safety is our priority, and knowing you’ve had the right training gives us peace of mind when heading out with us or on your daily commute.
